Oh boy, this is quite a trip. Yes, in the last one I told that another Stephen King book was on the way and I'm reading it right now. But this was something like a mystical call.
I'm an avid hiker, I love to stroll around in the woods and to discover some random abandoned house amidst nothing. This book is a study on an old manuscript dated 1371, called Descriptio Romandiole, that could be roughly translated in "A description about Romagna" (a region of my country). It's a very important and unique manuscript for one reason mostly: it was a thorough list of places that were paying taxes to the Pope; of course I don't care about payments, the important thing is the list of places! I now have transcripted a complete list of castels and hamlets that existed back in 1300-1400 and I'm ready to go to explore around!
The study itself it's also fundamental, because the author took a lot of time in identifying the current location of all these old places: the latin name is often misdirectional, so this is a pivotal component of the book.
I know, this is not really a review, I'm not good in writing about things that are not "novels", but a project will surely spring from this! At the moment the repository it's hosted at . I will keep you updated about this in the blog :-)
